The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Gombe State Command has deployed 800 personnel across the state to ensure a peaceful and crime-free Easter celebration from April 18 to 21, 2025.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer SC Buhari Saad, which was obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA.
Commandant Gyama Gyawiya assured citizens of adequate security measures, saying, “The Command has put in place adequate security measures to ensure a peaceful celebration. I urge all citizens and residents of the State to go about their normal activities without fear or panic.”
The personnel, including experts from various departments, will be stationed at worship centers and celebration venues across all 11 local government areas. Gyawiya emphasized the Command’s commitment to maintaining law and order throughout the state.
The NSCDC urged citizens to report suspicious activities or security threats to the nearest office or security agency. “We urge everyone to go about their normal activities without fear or panic, and to report any security threat or suspicious activity to the nearest security agency,” the Commandant assured.
The Commandant while assuring of safety, wished all Christians and residents of Gombe State a peaceful Good Friday and Easter celebrations.
