“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families, the Billiri LGA community, and the entire state,” said Ibrahim Yusuf, Chairman of GONET.

The network called for stricter safety compliance and regulation during public gatherings, especially those involving road movements.

“This heartbreaking event is a strong reminder of the need for stricter safety compliance,” Yusuf added.

GONET urged the Gombe State Government to investigate the incident and hold those found negligent accountable.

“We urge the Gombe State Government and relevant authorities to immediately launch a thorough investigation into the incident,” Yusuf said.

The network also advocated for intensified safety campaigns and enforcement of safety standards by regulatory agencies, including the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs).
