The Periscope Nigeria on Wednesday mourned the passing of Mr Jethro Saaior Yerga, a dutiful journalist of repute.
Prior to his passage on Sunday, Yerga was one of the contributors to the online news platform from Taraba State.

His contributions cut across publications that sought for the rights of Taraba journalists, calls by Ikyaior community in Wukari Local Government Area on alleged takeover of lands by Governor Kefas Agbu for Barack formation, establishment of international collaborations by Taraba State University for academic excellence.

Others include opinion on Senator Jimkuta’s efforts at bringing dividends of democracy closer to the people among others.

According to a press statement issued by the organisation, late Yerga who was until his demise Assistant Secretary of NUJ Taraba would be remembered for his incisive reports.

“The deceased had his way of fighting for the masses. He was articulate and humane.

“We will remember his contributions to our platform which had projected PERISCOPE NIGERIA as a medium given to sustainable development; one associated with the masses, vulnerable.
“Things that our competitors were scared to publish for him, we damned the consequences and published them because we trusted his judgement,” the statement partly read.
Yerga had attended various workshops on peacebuilding, election monitoring, audit reporting among others.
