The North-Eastern University, Gombe, has received full accreditation for 12 academic programmes from the National Universities Commission, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s pursuit of academic excellence.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the accredited programmes include: Business Administration, International Relations, Accounting, Architecture, and more.

According to the Pro-Chancellor, Dr. Sani Jauro, who disclosed this while unravelling the NUC’s rating in Gombe, said, “This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and students.”
While lauding the Chancellor, who is also the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu-Abubakar III, the Board of Trustees, and the NUC for their support, he added, “The university achieved an impressive overall average score of 91.4 per cent across the board.”

The Vice Chancellor Professor Yusuph Amuda-Yahaya highlighted other recent achievements to include commendations from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and the Architecture Registration Council of Nigeria.
“We’ve received high commendation for our standards, and this has led to a remarkable increase in our admission quota for the B.NSc. Nursing Science program,” Professor Yahaya said.
He disclosed that the university is set to accredit eight more programmes in November/December 2025 and has introduced new programmes, including Political Science, Biotechnology, and Urban and Regional Planning, with admission currently open for the 2025/2026 academic session.
“We’re committed to maintaining our standards and providing transformative education,” Yahaya added.
