In a groundbreaking stride toward agricultural transformation in Gombe State, Premier Seed Nigeria Limited, a leading player in the nation’s seed industry, is set to unveil its first ultra-modern seed processing plant at the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park, Dadinkowa, Gombe.

The commissioning ceremony, scheduled for Tuesday, will be performed by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Chairman of Obasanjo Holdings, alongside the Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The new seed processing plant is equipped with cutting-edge technology for the cleaning, grading, treating, and packaging of certified, high-quality, and climate-adapted seed varieties.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the plant is expected to transform seed supply in the Northeast, ensuring farmers have access to the improved inputs they need for higher yields and increased resilience to changing climatic conditions.
The state-of-the-art facility marks a significant investment in the agricultural sector, with the goal of boosting local seed production, enhancing food security, and supporting climate resilience.
Supported by the UK Government through its Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO)-funded Propcom+ programme, the initiative is underscores global and local collaboration aimed at strengthening the agricultural value chain.
The Propcom+ programme is designed to catalyse sustainable agricultural growth and support climate-smart innovations in Nigeria.
