Former Governor of Abia State and founder of the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Zamfara State, Dr Dauda Lawal, as part of a broader feasibility mission to explore investment opportunities in the state.
Speaking during the visit, Senator Kalu said his team was in Zamfara to assess government-designated locations for the establishment of food processing industries, mineral processing plants, and the assembly of tricycles popularly known as Keke Napep.

“We are here to conduct a feasibility study of the sites provided by the state government,” Kalu explained. “Our focus is on launching projects that will bring employment, industrial growth, and sustainable development to Zamfara State.”

As part of his engagements in Gusau, the state capital, Kalu was also given the honour of commissioning two key infrastructure projects: the newly constructed Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development and the renovated Zamfara College of Arts and Science.
“I am deeply honoured to have been invited to commission these important projects,” he said. “They demonstrate the commitment of the state government to social development and education.”
Senator Kalu also used the occasion to express gratitude to two of his close allies. “I want to sincerely appreciate my friend, General Aliyu Gusau, for his invaluable contributions to my life and to that of my family,” he said. “I also extend heartfelt thanks to my friend and colleague, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, for his continued support to the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation.”
Kalu encouraged the state leadership to maintain close collaboration with the federal government.
“Governor Lawal was my personal banker for over two decades. I urge him to sustain a strong working relationship with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and to fully support the President’s economic reforms, which are crucial for the prosperity of Zamfara State and Nigeria at large,” he added.
