The Secretary to the Gombe State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, on Thursday unveiled a new book titled “Integrated Laboratory Techniques”, authored by three staff members of the Gombe State College of Health Sciences and Technology, Kaltungo.




PERISCOPE NIGERIA gathered that the unveiling ceremony, which held at the college’s examination hall, was a significant event that attracted several dignitaries. Among them were the Commissioner for Higher Education (represented by his Permanent Secretary, Builder Ahmed Guli), the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Yakubu Sarma, the pioneer Provost of the College, Felix Habila, the representative of the Chairman of Kaltungo Local Government Council, Dr Bertha Abdu (Provost, College of Education, Billiri), and the book reviewer and JOHESU State Chairman, Abdulsalam Yakubu.

Representing Prof Njodi at the event was the Commissioner for Water, Environment, and Forest Resources, Mohammed Saidu Fawu. In his remarks, Prof. Njodi commended the Acting Provost, Dr. Umar Mohammed, the College Governing Board, and staff for their dedication and commitment to the institution’s growth and transformation.
He noted that the newly unveiled book is a valuable contribution to the pool of scientific knowledge and will significantly benefit health and educational development not only in Gombe State but across the country. Prof. Njodi praised the authors for their diligence in researching and simplifying complex laboratory techniques for the benefit of students, professionals, and all who seek knowledge.
In his welcome address, the Acting Provost, Dr Umar Mohammed, expressed gratitude to Prof Njodi, describing him as a seasoned educationist and bridge-builder whose contributions to human capital development are well recognized. He also congratulated the authors, describing their work as both historic and intellectually valuable.
Dr Mohammed used the occasion to commend Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his unwavering support to the college. He revealed that the Governor recently approved substantial funding for facility upgrades, enabling the institution to meet the accreditation standards of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE).
The Chairman of the College Governing Board and Chairman of the occasion, Dr Azael Chechera, also lauded the authors for their perseverance, commitment, and dedication to enriching academic literature.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the book was authored by Mr Jonathan Ibrahim, Mr Emmanuel Peter, and Mr Musa Ishaya—senior lecturers at the College. During the launch, Professor Njodi donated the sum of ₦300,000, while the Commissioner for Water, Environment, and Forest Resources, Mohammed Saidu Fawu, who announced Prof. Njodi’s donation, also contributed a personal sum of ₦200,000.
