The Gombe State Chapter of Youth O’Clock Nigeria has strongly condemned the brutal killing of Alhaji Ahmed Abdullahi, popularly known as Ahmadi Kasiran, who was reportedly murdered by unknown assailants along the Gombe Bypass in Akko Local Government Area.
In a statement released over the weekend, signed by Comrade Abdulazeez Sani, Chairman, Youth O’Clock Nigeria – Gombe State Chapter, the youth group described the killing as “senseless” and “deeply troubling,” urging security agencies to intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
“We are shocked and heartbroken by the merciless murder of Ahmadi Kasiran. His death is not only a personal loss to his family but a tragic reminder of the growing insecurity in our communities,” s Sani said.
Offering condolences to the bereaved family, the group prayed for the deceased’s soul to rest in peace. “We extend our deepest sympathies to the family. May Allah (subhanahu wata’ala) grant them the strength to bear this painful loss and may the soul of Ahmadi Khairan rest in Jannatul Firdausi,” the statement read.
While acknowledging the state government’s initiatives—such as the establishment of the Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Operation Hattara, and GOSTEC—the group stressed that more robust measures are urgently needed to secure lives and property.
“We commend the state government’s steps so far, but the current situation shows that more needs to be done,” Comrade Sani noted. “We are calling on the police, civil defence, and all other security operatives to redouble their efforts.”
The group outlined three key demands: Swift investigation and arrest of those responsible for the killing; Enhanced training and retraining of security personnel;Increased manpower and resource allocation to bolster security operations.
Emphasising the need for collective action, Youth O’Clock Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to peacebuilding and safety in Gombe State.
“Security is not the job of one agency alone—it requires the cooperation of government, security institutions, and the community,” Comrade Sani added. “We all have a part to play in creating a safe and peaceful environment.”
The group urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities while pledging to continue advocacy for a safer Gombe.
