In a statement issued by the Head of Public Relations and Protocol, Yakubu Ahamad Yahaya, the hospital confirmed that the first dialysis sessions were successfully administered to two patients. As part of a special gesture to inaugurate the service, the Medical Director of FMC Misau, Dr. Rufai Abdu Dachi, approved free dialysis treatment for the pioneer beneficiaries.

“This initiative reflects our commitment to patient care and accessibility,” Dr Dachi said, assuring that the hospital remains dedicated to delivering quality and compassionate healthcare to the people of Bauchi State and beyond.

The dialysis unit was formally unveiled and declared fully operational by the Head of Nursing Services, Nurse Muhammad Aminu Adamu. The facility is being run by a dedicated team of six healthcare professionals.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that FMC Misau’s move to introduce dialysis services is expected to ease the burden on patients who previously had to travel long distances for such specialised treatment.
