Global health non-profit Jhpiego has announced a call for applications to fill the role of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) Technical Advisor across three Nigerian states—Ebonyi, Kwara, and Gombe—as part of its continued commitment to strengthening integrated health service delivery and rights-based public health approaches.

The vacancy, which closes on August 12, 2025, seeks seasoned public health professionals to provide strategic leadership in advancing sexual and reproductive health, tackling communicable diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, and malaria, and deepening the use of data for informed decision-making.
“This is more than a technical position—it is a role that requires vision, empathy, and systems thinking,” said a Jhpiego representative familiar with the program. “The ideal candidate will not only improve service delivery, but also help protect rights, promote equity, and support learning within health systems.”
According to the organization, the Technical Advisor will be expected to drive integration of SRHR services within broader health platforms and design client-centered interventions that are gender-responsive and aligned with global and national best practices.
Jhpiego further stressed the importance of leveraging strategic information systems to inform decisions and support adaptive management. “We are looking for someone who can lead with data, ensuring we track not just outcomes, but also indicators related to equity, human rights, and non-discrimination,” the representative added.
The selected advisor will be based in either Ebonyi, Kwara, or Gombe State, with frequent travel to health facilities and rural communities making up to 50% of the time. The role also includes responsibilities in capacity building, digital data systems, health information interoperability, and stakeholder engagement at both state and national levels.
“This position is critical in connecting frontline health delivery with evidence-based policy and rights-based programming,” the representative said. “Applicants must have strong familiarity with Nigeria’s health policies and SRHR frameworks and bring at least eight years of experience in integrated health programming.”
Qualified candidates must possess an advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Nursing, or a related field. Experience with digital health tools, MEAL systems, and donor-funded programs such as USAID or the Global Fund is also essential. Fluency in English is mandatory, while knowledge of local languages in the designated states is considered an advantage.
Jhpiego encouraged qualified professionals to submit a single PDF document including a cover letter, résumé, and references via the official link: Apply Here.
The organization emphasized its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, noting that the successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
“Jhpiego is an equal opportunity employer,” the representative noted. “We do not discriminate based on gender, marital status, disability, ethnicity, or any other legally protected characteristic. We strongly encourage women and minority candidates to apply.”
