The Secretary to the Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Njodi, on Monday officially relocated to a newly constructed office complex built under the administration of Governor Muhammadu Yahaya, describing the facility as a major boost to government efficiency and staff morale.

The new office complex, located within the premises of the Government House, accommodates the SGS’ office, the Cabinet Secretariat Department, Special Services & Political Affairs Department, and the General Duties Department.
While inspecting the facility on Monday, Njodi expressed deep appreciation to the governor for what he described as “a thoughtful and timely intervention,” stressing that a conducive working environment is essential for optimal performance.
“We are indeed grateful to His Excellency, Governor Inuwa Yahaya, for providing this befitting office complex. It shows his commitment to improving the working conditions of public servants,” Njodi stated. “This is not just a structure; it is a symbol of trust and investment in governance.”
He urged civil servants operating under his supervision to reciprocate the government’s gesture with increased dedication and professionalism.
“I expect every member of staff to double their commitment to duty. This new office must reflect in our output and service delivery,” he said.
Professor Njodi issued a stern warning against absenteeism and poor work ethics, stressing that he would not tolerate any form of laxity. “Let me be clear—under my watch, indiscipline will not be condoned. Anyone found wanting will face appropriate sanctions in line with civil service rules,” he warned.
The SGS further emphasised the importance of discipline and hard work in driving the progress of both the civil service and the state at large. “The success of our policies and programmes depends on the commitment of the workforce. Let’s work together to ensure Gombe State continues on the path of growth,” he added.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Special Services and Political Affairs, Alhaji Salihu Adamu Sambo, Njodi toured various departments within the complex to assess their conditions and interact with staff.
Many civil servants were visibly excited about the new work environment, describing it as more comfortable and better equipped to support their responsibilities.
