…Urges professionalism, discipline among trainees
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, on Tuesday flagged off a two-week training programme for 48 personnel drawn from 13 registered Private Guard Companies (PGCs) operating within the state.


The training, which commenced at the Federal Secretariat in Gombe, was declared open by the State Commandant, CC Jibrin Idris, who was represented by the Deputy Commandant of Corps (DCC) Abubakar Muri, the Command’s 2nd-in-Command.
This was contained in a press statement signed by Public Relations Officer of the command SC Buhari Saad which was obtained by PERISCOPE NIGERIA.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, underscored the importance of professionalism and discipline in the private security sector.
He charged the participants to take the training seriously, adding that the program is aimed at equipping them with modern techniques and ethical standards necessary for improved service delivery.
“This training is designed to enhance your capacity and instill discipline.
“You are expected to take it seriously and rededicate yourselves to the core values of security service delivery. The private security industry plays a key role in the broader security architecture of our nation, and your contribution is essential,” Idris said.
Also present at the event was DCC Jimoh Otaru, Head of Private Guard Companies in the command, alongside other senior officers who lent their support to the initiative.
The command assured that such trainings would continue to be a regular feature to ensure that personnel of private guard outfits adhere to the national standards set by the NSCDC.
