A list published by Grok, the Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbot developed by xAI and integrated into X (formerly Twitter), has stirred a wave of reactions after labelling some of Nigeria’s most prominent social media personalities as “foolish influencers.”

Responding to a request from a user, @chukwudaluobii, who asked the chatbot to rate the “10 most foolish Nigerian influencers on X,” Grok released a ranked list on Monday based on what it called “X sentiment analysis and diverse sources (e.g., user threads, media critiques).”
Topping the controversial list is Daniel Regha, who Grok described as offering “unsolicited, shallow advice.” Other names include controversial figures such as VeryDarkMan, Abazz, and political commentators like Reno Omokri and Femi Fani-Kayode.
The full list reads:
Daniel Regha – Unsolicited, shallow advice
VeryDarkMan – Paid drama and controversies
Abazz – Clout-chasing BBN simping
Reno Omokri – Divisive, biased critiques
Femi Fani-Kayode – Inflammatory bigotry
Japheth Omojuwa – Ethnic hatred, inconsistency
Saida Boj – Sensational, reckless takes
Tacha – Petty feuds, attention-seeking
Bobrisky – Scandal-prone antics
Peller – Viral but superficial content
The response, which has since gone viral, triggered a wave of commentary from Nigerian users on X. Many expressed approval of the list, while others questioned the objectivity of the ranking. “At least Reno made the list. If not it would have been null and void,” wrote @deleostarzs.
Another user, @bimbolaroyale, added, “I’m glad Reno, Omojuwa, Peller and VDM made the list sha. Bunch of stupid people.” Others found humor in the situation. “Grok is savage and for one individual that took his time tagging Grok and explaining abi na complain chia I don laugh tire Nigeria is not real walahi,” said @Rossyblog123.
Still, not all responses were supportive. A user, @Success37271017, fired back over Grok’s description of VeryDarkMan: “You must be foolish to say VDM is paid, if you know nothing next time they asked you question just shut up.”
The list has also sparked a broader conversation about the role of influencers in Nigeria’s digital space, with Grok’s AI-generated assessments raising questions about bias, data sources, and the influence of algorithmic analysis on public discourse.
Grok, developed by Elon Musk’s xAI, is known for its blunt and sometimes controversial answers, and this latest response adds to its growing reputation for unfiltered commentary.
