Professor Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr, Convener of the CountryFirst Movement, has launched a scathing criticism of the Nigerian government, describing it as “the most corrupt, uneventful, underperforming, and criminally minded” in the nation’s history.
In a strongly worded statement issued on Friday, Nwaokobia accused political leaders and their supporters of what he called “soulless sycophancy” while ordinary Nigerians grapple with dysfunction, corruption, and failed governance.
“They see a dysfunctional Nigeria and say their god is making Nigeria better. So blind and distant from truth that one wonders what specie of the humanoid they are,” he said.
According to him, government officials are looting resources beyond measure, with sycophants defending the regime under the guise of infrastructure spending.
“They steal resources they do not need in ten lifetimes and the sycophants say their god is spending on infrastructure. They inflate budgets in billions and trillions and the jesters say their god is investing in infrastructure more than any administration in our nation’s history. One wonders whether these rambunctious jesters and sycophants live on Mars or Jupiter,” Nwaokobia stated.
He accused both the Executive and the National Assembly of being “manifestly inextricably united in thieving.”
“The National Assembly pads and inflates budgets in trillions… and the Execu-Thieves are okay with it because they along with the Legis-Looters are united in plundering our collective patrimony to the sordid applause of soulless sycophants,” he added.
The advocacy leader further alleged that ministers were “in competition” to outspend and out-loot each other, insisting that much of the infrastructure credited to the government exists only “on paper.”
On efforts to discredit opposition figures, Nwaokobia condemned alleged attempts to smear Oseloka Obi, son of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi.
“These sycophants swimming in the mud of their sycophancy must explain how Oseloka Obi, who is neither a politician nor a player in the Nigerian political space, becomes a trophy in the muddy and murky turf of blackmail politics. Are they so mortally low that their politics is bereft of decorum and decency?” he asked.
He alleged that supporters of the administration were attempting to distract Nigerians from pressing leadership failures by spreading false claims about Obi’s son.
“How those whose god is a certified druggy, a certified certificate forger, a certified age cheat and forger, a certified election rigger, a certified looter, and a certified liar think that to colour Oseloka Obi as gay will mitigate the utterly despicable low that their god has brought Nigeria, I cannot fathom. They are desperate to change the discourse from serious issues of leadership failure to gossip. But we no go allow dem,” he said.
Nwaokobia argued that the country is facing “unprecedented moral decay, bigotry, nepotism, and falsehood from Government Houses and offices,” insisting that “debauchery and deceit has become an Act of State.”
The CountryFirst Convener maintained that no amount of blackmail or slander would derail the push for a better Nigeria.
“In making Peter Gregory Obi’s son the issue, they want to drag all of us in the mud of their senselessly low politics. They want to elevate blackmail, libel, slander and scandal… but they will fail,” he said.
Concluding, he called on Nigerians to remain vigilant and steadfast in the pursuit of good governance.
“We shall suffer no fools gladly as we continue to organize until we birth and berth a new Nigeria. If they like they can continue to swim in the mud, but one thing is certain – a new Nigeria is possible,” Nwaokobia declared.
