The National President of Gombe State Students Association, Comrade Mohammed Adamu Bako, led executive members of the association on a felicitation visit to the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi.
Speaking during the visit, the President explained that they were at the SGS’ office to rejoice with him over the new office and to express their gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his numerous support to students of Gombe State, particularly in the payment of the backlog of scholarship arrears and the recent opening of the portal for students to access the new phase of the scholarship.
While appreciating the government, he further appealed for the upward review of the scholarship allowance due to the present economic realities.
The President, who also appreciated the SGS for his fatherly role in GOSSA, assured him of their support for the present administration of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
Responding, the SGS appreciated the leadership of GOSSA for their support and cooperation with the present administration and advised them to maintain the tempo.
On the President’s call for the review of the scholarship, Professor Njodi tasked the leadership to come up with a realistic position on how best to implement it.
He further charged students from Gombe State to take advantage of NELFUND, a Federal Government initiative to support parents and students alike.
