The Ministry of Water, Environment and Forest Resources on Saturday led a sanitation exercise at the state Secretariat, focusing on the proper maintenance and cleanliness of toilet facilities within its premises.

The exercise was spearheaded by the ministry’s sanitation desk officer, Ms. Jemima Dauda, who said the initiative was in line with the ministry’s mandate of promoting hygiene and environmental health across the state.

“As the ministry responsible for sanitation, it is important that we lead by example. Our facilities must reflect the standards we want others to uphold,” Dauda stated.

Environmental and Health (EVH) officers as well as cleaners in the ministry actively participated in the exercise, ensuring the facilities were thoroughly cleaned for convenient use.

The ministry said the initiative is not only about cleanliness but also about reinforcing its commitment to a healthy and habitable environment. It expressed hope that the effort would inspire other government offices and communities to adopt similar sanitation practices.
