The immediate past Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, popularly known as “Dullar,” has paid a courtesy visit to Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, in Abuja.
The meeting, held at the Governor’s residence, was described as warm and cordial, with both leaders exchanging views on governance and unity across Nigeria’s regions.
Governor Ododo commended Salawu’s eight-year tenure in Somolu, lauding his people-focused programmes, enduring infrastructure, and visible dividends of democracy. He described the Lagos politician as “a true ambassador of the All Progressives Congress (APC)” and “a reliable disciple of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” noting that his leadership style reflects the values and vision of the party.
The Kogi governor, who hails from Okene, also expressed pride in Salawu’s contributions to national unity, stating that he has successfully bridged communities beyond Lagos and Kogi. In response, Salawu praised the developmental strides in Kogi under Ododo’s leadership, describing them as a source of pride to the APC and the nation.
Salawu was accompanied by his brother, Hon. Sanni Ogembe Salawu, and Hon. Mike Oikeh, a Governing Council Member of Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Ebonyi State. Their presence underscored the importance of fostering partnerships across state lines for societal advancement.
Meanwhile, in a related development, recognition has also gone to those transforming public service in Lagos. A recently commissioned fire station has been named after Adesina Tiamiyua, in honour of his role in reshaping the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency’s Light Rescue Unit (LASEMA LRU) into a model of efficiency and service delivery.
The two events highlight the significance of visionary leadership, recognition of service, and collaboration in strengthening Nigeria’s political and social fabric.
