The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Manassah Jatau, on Wednesday received the Senior Pastor of the City of David, House of God International Ministry, Evangelist Felix Yusuf, who is in the state for a two-day crusade at the CAN Centre in Gombe city.

The pastor, in company of the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Gombe State Chapter, Rev. Father Joseph Shinga, and other officials of the ministry, paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy Governor in his office before proceeding to the crusade venue for preparations.
Receiving them in his office, the Deputy Governor commended the visiting cleric for embarking on such a spiritual mission despite financial constraints and the challenges of traveling across the country.
“Over the recent years, Gombe State has witnessed the influx of spiritual fathers coming to organise crusades, and the result has been the blessings our state enjoys in all ramifications,” he said.
He highlighted that the state has benefited from good governance, peaceful coexistence, and harmony among diverse ethnic groups, adding: “Gombe is at the centre of the North East which has been bedeviled by insurgent activities, yet we remain the least affected, and this is by the grace of God.”
The Deputy Governor urged the Man of God to continue praying for Gombe State and Nigeria against all odds that is affecting sustainable development. He also appealed for moral teachings especially targeted at Christian youths, stressing, “When we accommodate each other’s culture, religion, and differences, there will be peaceful coexistence.”
Quoting the scriptures, Jatau said, “In vain do the watchmen watch over the city where the Lord does not watch. We must pray that God watches over our nation so that Nigeria shall be blessed.”
Earlier in his remarks, Evangelist Felix Yusuf explained that his ministry has a divine mandate to reach every state of Nigeria with revival crusades. “So far, we have visited Kogi, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Nasarawa, and now we are here in Gombe,” he said.
He stated that the Gombe crusade would focus on revival and divine visitations for prosperity in all aspects of life. According to him: “The presence of God shall bring breakthroughs in every facet of life. We pray that everything that was not working in Gombe will begin to work.”
