The people of Malam Sidi District in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State have commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his massive developmental strides across the state, from which the community has been a major beneficiary.

The commendation came during a civic reception organised in honour of the newly appointed Vice Chancellor of Gombe State University, Prof. Sani Ahmed Yauta, who hails from the area.

Leaders from the community, including the Council Chairman, Dr Ahmed Wali Doho; the Senior District Head of Kwami, Alhaji Aminu Haruna Abdullahi; the Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport, Engr. Maijama’a Kallamu; and the Chairman of Malam Sidi Development Association, Ibrahim Manga, expressed gratitude to the governor for his numerous developmental projects in the state, particularly in Malam Sidi.
They highlighted the establishment of the Faculty of Agriculture of Gombe State University at Malam Sidi, along with other projects across Kwami LGA.
While appreciating the Governor for appointing their son as Vice Chancellor of the state-owned university, community leaders assured Governor Yahaya of their continued support for his policies and programmes.
Represented by the Secretary to Government of Gombe State, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, Governor Yahaya said the appointment of Prof. Yauta was based on merit.
He commended the Malam Sidi community for organising the reception, noting that the gesture would inspire the new Vice Chancellor to do even more for the institution.
In his remarks, Yauta thanked Governor Yahaya for the trust reposed in him, pledging to justify the confidence by working to advance the growth of the university.
Highlight of the event was the presentation of an award of excellence to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
