The Gombe State Government has commiserated with the family of the late driver, Mallam Buhari Muhammad Rufai, who lost his life in the tragic accident that also claimed the lives of the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Col. Abdullahi Bello (Rtd.), and his police orderly.

A government delegation led by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, visited the family residence of the deceased at Bajoga Quarters, Gombe, to deliver the condolence message on behalf of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
The delegation included the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Mohammed Luggerewo, alongside some lawmakers; the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi; Chief of Staff, Alh. Abubakar Inuwa Kari; Head of Civil Service, Alh. Abdullahi Ahmed Kasimu; several Commissioners, and heads of security agencies, among others.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Prof. Njodi described death as an inevitable end destined by God, noting that the passing of the late driver, his boss, and the police orderly was ordained by divine will.
He said, “Death is a divine and inevitable end for all mortals. It was the will of God that Mallam Buhari Muhammad Rufai, his boss, and the police orderly met their end in this tragic accident. We can only submit to His will.”
Prof. Njodi prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and for Allah to grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus. He added that the Governor had been receiving condolence visits from sympathisers and found it necessary to send a delegation to personally console the bereaved family.
Responding on behalf of the family, the elder brother of the deceased, Mallam Mohammed Inuwa Suleiman, expressed profound gratitude to the government for the visit and prayers, asking God to bless and reward them for their show of compassion.
The delegation offered prayers for the repose of the deceased’s soul before departing for Gandu Quarters, where they also visited the family of the late Mallam Musa Bawa.
At the Gandu residence, Prof. Njodi once again conveyed the government’s condolences, urging the family to accept the loss as an act of God. “Life and death are in the hands of Allah. We must take solace in His divine decree,” he said.
