Egyptian youth leader Hassan Ghazaly, a member of the APRM Focal Point Committee and Founder of the Global Solidarity Network, has presented the official outcomes of the 5th African Youth Symposium to Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero and APRM Chairperson Ambassador Marie-Antoinette Vilakazi.

The two-day event, held at the Pan-African Parliament under the theme “Youth in Governance: From Promise to Prosperity,” brought together key African policymakers, youth leaders and representatives from continental institutions.
Delegates discussed peace and security, youth participation in governance, economic development, youth policy alignment with Agenda 2063, and restorative justice. Ghazaly called for the review of the African Youth Charter, urgent action in conflict-affected regions, and reforms to increase youth participation in political processes.
He also urged African governments to address unemployment, support entrepreneurship, and implement economic policies that strengthen manufacturing and operationalize initiatives such as AfCFTA and PAPSS.
Ghazaly concluded by emphasising that Africa’s prosperity depends on collective leadership, accountability, and innovation.
