The Chief Medical Director of the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH), Gombe, Professor Yusuf Muhammad Abdullahi, has attended the 2025 Global Meeting on Digital Pathology in the United Kingdom.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the internationally recognised event brought together over 600 participants and more than 60 technology providers to discuss and collaborate on the latest advances, developments, and case studies in digital pathology and artificial intelligence (AI).
As digital workflows have become the norm in modern healthcare, global attention has shifted towards refining these processes and exploring how the future of digital pathology and AI can support precision medicine approaches to disease treatment.
During the 2025 meeting, participants explored ways to overcome potential challenges associated with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and digital workflows. They also learned about the integration of digital pathology and AI in clinical trials, assessed the return on investment in implementing digital pathology, and examined AI regulation and the ethical considerations surrounding its use.
At the heart of the conference was a strong emphasis on networking. With over seven hours dedicated exclusively to professional interactions, participants had ample time and space to engage deeply with peers, exchange ideas, and initiate meaningful collaborations.
Such interactions provide valuable opportunities where breakthroughs begin, fostering connections that drive collaborative innovation and advance medical discoveries.
