In his remarks, Brigadier General Chidiebere congratulated the beneficiaries on their well-deserved elevation, describing himself as “fortunate” to have such a significant number of personnel promoted under his command. While appreciating the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General W Shaibu, for the privilege, he urged the newly decorated soldiers to view their promotion as a call to higher responsibility. He emphasised dedication, professionalism, respect for human rights, and the protection of lives and property as essential virtues expected of every soldier on operations.

The Commander warned against arrogance in service, stressing that “arrogance destroys soldiers,” and encouraged the troops to embrace humility, discipline, and unwavering commitment in the discharge of their duties.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted personnel, Army Warrant Officer Anekwe Livinus expressed profound gratitude to the Nigerian Army for the opportunity to advance in their careers. He assured the military leadership of their continued loyalty, discipline, and dedication to duty. He also appreciated the Brigade Commander for his exemplary leadership, pledging that the soldiers would remain worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Army wherever they are deployed.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Chairman of Jalingo Local Government, Hon. Nuru Dansoho; the Director of the State Security Service (DSS), Mr. Victor Edet; the Commandant of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Mr. Bako Amos Gambo; representatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC); and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

The ceremony concluded with group photographs and expressions of goodwill to the newly promoted personnel as they assume higher responsibilities in service to the nation.
