Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Dr Luka Shilong Ture, who died recently after a brief illness at the age of 80 years.


Shilong was until his passing a traditional title holder of Shamakin Kaltungo.
The deceased was a retired Gombe Depot Chief of the NNPC and thereafter served as Chairman Gombe State Local Government Service Commission.
Governor Yahaya represented by the Secretary to Government of the State, Prof Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, acknowledged the contribution of the deceased to the state and nation, calling on the family to be consoled by the fact that he lived a life well spent.
Yahaya reminded the grieving family that death is inevitable, wherein from dust humans came and unto dust we shall return.
In a similar development, the governor who was at Guji’s family compound of sabon-layi quarters Kaltungo to commiserate with the family over the loss of Late Alhaji Adamu Guji a renowned business man who died recently after a prolonged illness.
In a condolence message to the family, the governor enjoined them to bear the loss describing the incident as an act of God
In their separate response on behalf of the two families, Mr Azur Usman, and Alhaji Yahaya Guji expressed their profound gratitude to the governor for identifying with them in their moment of grief.
Prayers were offered for God’s comfort to the families by the government delegation which comprised of Commissioners, Permanent Secretaries, Chairman Kaltungo LGA, Appointees of Government and some APC leaders and supporters.
