In furtherance of its assignment, the State Government Committee on Investigation of School Vandalisation on Tuesday visited Billiri Local Government Area (LGA), where it engaged key stakeholders in the education sector, including local government officials and the traditional institution.

Addressing the Mai Tangle, Alhaji Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba, and district heads at the palace, the Chairman of the Committee, Malam Aliyu Mamman Kamara, explained that the initiative was informed by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya’s concern over reports of widespread vandalisation of school properties across the state.

Malam Aliyu Kamara, who described the situation as worrisome, lamented that despite huge government spending on the provision of educational infrastructure, some unscrupulous groups and individuals have continued to sabotage these efforts.
He warned that at the conclusion of its investigation, the committee would make strong recommendations to the government, stressing that anyone caught or indicted would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
The committee chairman also advised communities to cultivate the culture of ownership of government properties, noting that such facilities are provided for their collective benefit.
In his response, the Mai Tangle, Alhaji Danladi Sanusi Maiyamba, appreciated Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his foresight in constituting the committee, which he said underscores the administration’s commitment to the future of the state. He pledged his support towards the successful conduct of the committee’s assignment.
Earlier, the committee interacted with representatives of the Billiri Local Government Council and the Local Education Authority (LEA) management.
Schools visited by the investigation committee include Dangwaram Primary/Junior Secondary School and Sansani Junior Secondary School.
