The Bala Waja, Alhaji Danjuma Mohammed, and the Folo Dadiya, Abdulkadir Abubakar, have pledged their support for the educational reforms of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.

The monarchs made the pledge when they received the State Government Investigation Committee on the Vandalisation of Schools, constituted to look into cases of vandalisation of critical educational infrastructure across the state, at their respective palaces.
While appreciating the Governor’s foresight and commitment to the provision of quality education for the people of the state, the two traditional rulers decried the nonchalant attitude of some individuals toward government property, especially in rural communities.
They also appealed for improved security around government facilities, particularly schools, to curb the rising incidents of vandalism.
Earlier, the Chairman of the nine-member Committee, Malam Aliyu Mamman Kamara, informed the traditional rulers that the constitution of the committee became imperative following reports received by the Governor regarding the wanton vandalisation of school structures by groups or individuals for selfish reasons.
He warned that the committee would be fair but firm in handling all established cases, stressing that anyone found culpable would have himself to blame, as all cases would be diligently investigated and appropriate sanctions recommended.
Malam Aliyu Kamara also expressed dismay that despite the huge financial commitments by the state government to create a conducive teaching and learning environment, some individuals were bent on sabotaging these efforts.
The committee had earlier interacted with the Chairman of Balanga Local Government Area, Honourable Ibrahim Salisu, his council members, the Local Education Authority management, and other education stakeholders at the local government secretariat.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA recalls that the committee had held similar engagements with the Emirs of Gonna and Pindiga, as well as the Lamido of Akko, all in Akko Local Government Area.
