The Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has decorated 85 officers promoted in the 2025 exercise, with the State Commandant, CC Jibrin Idris, charging them to uphold discipline, integrity and exemplary leadership.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Buhari Saad, command Public Relations Officer following his promotion from Superintendent of Corps was decorated with Chief Superintendent of Corps among 84 others.
Speaking at the decoration ceremony held at the State Command Conference Hall on Wednesday after a management meeting, Idris reminded the officers that elevation in rank comes with heavier responsibility.
“Promotion is not a reward alone; it is a call to higher responsibility. You must recommit yourselves to discipline, integrity, selfless service and exemplary leadership in the discharge of your duties,” he said.
The Commandant disclosed that the promoted officers comprised 53 senior officers and 32 junior officers, describing the ceremony as a defining moment in their careers.
He further urged the officers to embrace modern law enforcement principles, strengthen community engagement and deepen collaboration with sister security agencies.
“The public expects more from you at this level. You must work closely with other security agencies and the communities you serve to ensure the safety and security of lives and property,” Idris added.
Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, Assistant Commandant of Corps (ACC) Kizito Igawe, expressed gratitude to God and the leadership of the Corps for the elevation.
“We thank the Almighty God and the Commandant General of the NSCDC for finding us worthy of this promotion. We pledge to uphold the values, standards and ideals of the Corps with renewed commitment and dedication,” he said.
