The Gombe State Command of the Federal Fire Service (FFS) on Wednesday decorated 35 officers recently promoted to higher ranks, in a ceremony aimed at recognising dedication and boosting morale within the service.

The event took place at the Conference Hall of the Federal Secretariat, Gombe, and formed part of a nationwide promotion exercise that saw 6,265 personnel of the Federal Fire Service elevated by the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), with the approval of the Chairman of the Board and Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
The ceremony drew representatives of sister security agencies, the Gombe State Coordinator of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, the State Coordinator of the National Human Rights Commission, and the Chairman of the Forum of Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in Gombe State, Comrade Abubakar Sadiq Ahmed, alongside other key stakeholders.
Speaking at the event, the State Controller of the Federal Fire Service in Gombe, DCF Sulaiman Mohammed Suleiman, said the promotion and decoration exercise reflected the Service’s commitment to rewarding hard work, professionalism and selfless service.
“This promotion is a clear demonstration of the Federal Fire Service’s resolve to recognise dedication and meritorious service, while also enhancing morale and operational efficiency across the Command,” Suleiman said.
He congratulated the newly promoted officers and charged them to see their elevation as a call to greater responsibility.
“Promotion comes with increased expectations. I urge you to justify the confidence reposed in you by upholding discipline, loyalty and the highest standards of professionalism in the discharge of your duties,” he added.
The Gombe State Command, in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, ASF MB Muazu, congratulated the beneficiaries and reaffirmed its commitment to effective service delivery and public safety in the state.
