The Gombe State chapter of the City Boy Movement has announced a comprehensive restructuring of its state, local government and ward structures following what it described as “peaceful and harmonious deliberations” by its national leadership.

In an official address, the Gombe State Coordinator, Dunijir Gatama, said the decision was reached after consultations led by Alhaji Abdullahi Yakassai, Senior Special Assistant to the President; Hon. Shoga Francis Oluwatosin, National Director; Hon. Favor Abayomi, National Coordinator; and Dr. Chris, Head of the Disciplinary Committee.
According to Gatama, the restructuring became necessary to address lingering organisational issues affecting the activities of the movement in the state.
“After extensive consultations and in the collective interest of strengthening the Movement for greater effectiveness, unity and long-term success, it has been resolved that all existing state, local government and ward structures in Gombe State be restructured,” he said.
He explained that the move would allow for “a fresh, inclusive and performance-driven reorganisation that reflects the true vision and objectives of the movement.”
The coordinator further disclosed that a new coordinating framework would be established to reposition the group.
“The State Director and the State Coordinator will immediately commence consultations with critical stakeholders across Gombe State to establish a stronger, more coordinated and representative leadership structure,” he stated.
Gatama assured members that the process would be transparent and inclusive.
“The restructuring process will ensure inclusiveness, transparency and the engagement of dedicated members whose commitment will drive the movement toward greater relevance and sustained success within the state,” he added.
He urged members and supporters to remain calm and cooperative throughout the transition.
“We call on all members, supporters and stakeholders to remain calm, loyal and cooperative. The new structure being developed will position the Movement for renewed strength, efficiency and impactful service,” he said.
Gatama also expressed appreciation to supporters in the state for their continued loyalty.
“I want to thank the good people of Gombe State for standing by us despite challenges and ensuring that we work together for the greater good of our state and toward the successful return of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027,” he said.
He expressed confidence that the restructuring would reposition the City Boy Movement in Gombe State on a solid foundation capable of delivering greater success.
