The Secretary of the City Boy Movement in Gombe State, Mubarak Mijinyawa, has said the group’s latest engagement was aimed at strengthening its grassroots structure across the state ahead of future political activities.

Mijinyawa explained that the event was organised to formally present appointment letters to newly selected officials drawn from various local government areas.

PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that the occasion held at APC Square with supporters and members in attendance.

“The sole purpose of today’s engagement was to present and give appointment letters to our appointees cutting across various local governments. They are representing different wards in the City Boy Movement,” he said.

He stated that the movement is committed to promoting and protecting the interests of the All Progressives Congress and supporting the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The aim is to promote and protect the interest of the All Progressives Congress and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That is basically the aim to deliver the mandate of the president and galvanise support for him, particularly on the second bid,” Mijinyawa stated.

He disclosed that no fewer than 98 appointees have been recruited across the LGAs, adding that the structure would be expanded to polling unit and ward levels in the coming weeks.

“We have more appointments rolling out at polling unit and ward levels. The re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a done deal, especially having young people on board. Particularly for us in the City Boy Movement, we are very confident that the president will get the desired result. There are numerous achievements; we intend to enlighten the people on his milestones.

“It’s a done deal because every task given to young people is a task delivered. This is because we understand community mobilisation and service delivery across all quarters,” he added.

Mijinyawa emphasised that the mobilisation drive is focused on deepening youth participation and consolidating grassroots support for the party across Gombe State.
