The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, and the Federal University Kashere (FUK) have pledged to strengthen collaboration on security and community development in Gombe State.

The Vice Chancellor of FUK, Professor Muhammad Jaafaru Inuwa, paid a courtesy visit to the NSCDC Gombe State Command Headquarters in Gombe, where he was received by the State Commandant, Commandant Jibrin Idris.

Speaking on the visit, the Public Relations Officer of the Command, CSC Buhari Saad, said the State Commandant congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his recent appointment and commended the university’s contributions to education and community development in the state.

“The Commandant warmly received the Vice Chancellor and his delegation and congratulated Professor Inuwa on his well-deserved appointment,” Saad stated. “He also acknowledged the vital role Federal University Kashere plays in promoting education and supporting community development in Gombe State.”
Saad explained that discussions during the meeting centered on strengthening collaboration between the NSCDC and the university, with particular emphasis on security and community engagement.
“Professor Inuwa briefed the Commandant on the university’s peace and security initiatives and explored areas of partnership with the Corps to further enhance safety within and around the institution,” he said.
According to Saad, Commandant Idris assured the university management of the Corps’ full support in advancing security-related initiatives.
“The Commandant reiterated the NSCDC’s commitment to supporting the university, stressing that collaboration is key to addressing security challenges and fostering academic as well as socio-economic growth in Gombe State,” Saad added.
He noted that the visit ended with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to sustained cooperation aimed at enhancing security and promoting development across the state.
