The incident, which affected a two-bedroom flat and a three-bedroom detached residential building, was promptly brought under control due to the swift response and professionalism of firefighters at the scene. No casualties were recorded.

This was contained in a press statement signed on Tuesday by the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service, Gombe State Command, ASF Bashir Muazu, commended the оператив response of personnel.

“Our firefighters responded swiftly to the distress call and were able to confine the fire to the affected buildings. Their timely intervention prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby structures,” Muazu said.

He disclosed that preliminary assessments indicate that property valued at approximately ₦25 million was successfully saved, while the estimated loss stood at about ₦5 million.

Muazu also acknowledged the support received from sister agencies. “We appreciate the collaboration of the Gombe State Fire Service and security personnel from the Tumfure Divisional Police Station, whose support ensured a safe and coordinated operation,” he added.

The Federal Fire Service urged residents to prioritise fire safety measures in their homes.

“We advise members of the public to regularly inspect and maintain their electrical installations, avoid practices that could trigger fire outbreaks, and keep basic firefighting equipment within reach. Prevention remains the most effective way to reduce fire incidents,” Muazu stated.
