The Chairman of Takum Local Government Council, Hon. Benjamin Bako, on Tuesday met with the Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, to strengthen security operations in the local government area.

Hon. Bako disclosed during the meeting in Jalingo that the visit was aimed at enhancing collaboration with the police to address security challenges in the area.
The council chairman said his administration is committed to improving cooperation between the local government, the police, and community leaders through intelligence sharing and vigilance to strengthen law and order in the area.
“My desire is to ensure that the security of lives and property of Takum citizens is guaranteed. I also seek to enhance cooperation between the Takum Local Government, the police, and community leaders through intelligence sharing and vigilance to improve law and order,” Bako said.
“My visit to the Commissioner of Police is to ensure stronger collaboration with the police in addressing security challenges in the local government.”
While commending the CP for the professionalism demonstrated so far, Bako noted that the efforts of the police have contributed to relative peace and development in the state.
“The professionalism demonstrated by the police across Taraba State has not only helped to restore peace but has also attracted infrastructural development. The ongoing International Cattle Market and the refurbishment of the Takum Council Secretariat, among other initiatives supported by the TY Danjuma Foundation, are some of the benefits that have motivated me to seek stronger collaboration with security agencies to achieve more in Takum LGA,” he added.
In her response, the Commissioner of Police assured the council chairman of the police command’s commitment to ensuring a crime-free society in the state.
Otimenyin also commended Hon. Bako for prioritising the security of lives and property in the local government area.
