The Vice Chancellor of Gombe State University, Sani Ahmed Yauta, has reiterated the university’s commitment to quality assurance and infrastructural development during an inspection tour of ongoing projects and operational facilities across the campus.
The inspection covered several key projects, including the construction of a 500-seat auditorium, twin-lecture theatres for the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and additional lecture halls for the College of Medical Sciences.
In a statement issued by the university’s Public Relations Office, signed by Hadu Ligari and made available to journalists in Gombe, the Vice Chancellor also visited the renovation site of the Department of Nursing Sciences, where extensive upgrades are underway to improve the learning environment and align facilities with modern academic standards.

At the Department of Anatomy, Professor Yauta inspected newly installed solar energy facilities aimed at enhancing power supply, promoting sustainability, and ensuring uninterrupted academic and research activities.
He also assessed the installation of solar-powered street lights across the campus, an initiative designed to improve security, enhance nighttime visibility, and reinforce the university’s commitment to renewable energy solutions.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied on the tour by the Director of the Physical Planning Unit, the Provost of the College of Medical Sciences, as well as Deans and Heads of Departments within the College.
Engineers and project supervisors at the various sites provided technical briefings on the progress and scope of work.
Addressing contractors and engineers, Professor Yauta charged them to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, quality, and accountability in the execution of their assignments.
He emphasized that the university administration is determined to deliver durable and functional infrastructure that will serve both present and future generations of students and staff.
He further noted that the projects form part of the university’s broader strategic plan to expand academic capacity, strengthen teaching and research infrastructure, and provide a conducive learning environment in line with global best practices.
Gombe State University, the Vice Chancellor affirmed, continues to record steady progress in infrastructural development, reflecting its dedication to academic excellence and institutional growth.
