The Commissioner of Police in Gombe State, CP Umar Chuso, on Wednesday supervised and actively participated in a shooting range exercise aimed at enhancing the operational readiness and marksmanship of officers in the command.

According to a press statement issued by DSP Buhari Abdullahi, Public Relations Officer of the command, the exercise, conducted in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu, on continuous training and retraining of personnel, underscored the command’s commitment to professionalism and modern policing standards.
Speaking during the drill, CP Chuso stressed the importance of regular firearms training, noting that it is essential for maintaining discipline and effectiveness among officers.
“Regular firearms training is critical to ensuring that our officers remain proficient, disciplined, and capable of responding effectively to emerging security challenges,” he said.
He added that the exercise also served as a platform to assess officers’ adherence to safety protocols while improving overall operational efficiency within the command.
“The drill provided an opportunity to evaluate personnel on safety procedures while promoting efficiency and professionalism among officers and men of the command,” he stated.
The Gombe State Police Command reiterated its commitment to capacity building and adherence to best practices in law enforcement.
