A formal handover ceremony has taken place at the Gombe State Ministry for Local Government and Community Development, marking a transition in administrative leadership.

The outgoing Commissioner, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mohammed Waziri, officially handed over the affairs of the Ministry to the newly posted Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Shuaibu Ibrahim.
Speaking at the ceremony, Waziri expressed gratitude to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the opportunity to serve, and for appointing what he described as a competent and dedicated officer to oversee the Ministry’s operations.
He urged staff to give the new Permanent Secretary their full cooperation to ensure continuity and improved service delivery.
According to the Ministry’s Information Officer, the outgoing Commissioner described Ibrahim as a committed public servant capable of advancing the Ministry’s mandate.
In her goodwill message, the Chairperson of the Teachers Service Commission, Mrs. Naomi Phillip Maiguwa, stressed the need for unity and teamwork among civil servants.
She called on staff to work collaboratively toward achieving the Ministry’s objectives and strengthening public service delivery.
In his response, the new Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Shuaibu Ibrahim, thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to justify the trust.
He assured staff of his commitment to transparency, diligence, and an open-door policy, encouraging them to contribute meaningfully to the growth of the Ministry.
Also speaking, the Director of Administration and Finance, Malam Aliyu Hamza Abdulkadir, commended the outgoing Commissioner for his exemplary leadership and inclusive style, noting that his tenure brought notable improvements to the Ministry.
The ceremony signifies a key administrative transition aimed at sustaining effective governance and enhancing service delivery in the Ministry.
