The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Asma’u Mohammed Iganus, has formally handed over the affairs of the ministry to the Acting Permanent Secretary and Director of Administration and Finance, Hajiya Fatima Umar Abubakar.
The brief ceremony, held at the Commissioner’s office, marked the official transition of leadership within the ministry.
Speaking at the event, Iganus expressed appreciation to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for the opportunity to serve.
“I am deeply grateful to His Excellency, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, for giving me the opportunity to serve in this capacity,” she said.

She also commended staff of the ministry for their cooperation and support during her tenure.
“I sincerely appreciate the commitment and support of the staff of the Ministry of Women Affairs. Your cooperation made our work easier and impactful,” she added.
The outgoing commissioner urged civil servants and residents of the state to continue to promote peace and unity.
“I call on all civil servants and the people of the state to continue to live in peace with one another, as this remains key to sustainable development,” she said.
In her remarks, the Acting Permanent Secretary, Hajiya Fatima Umar Abubakar, praised Iganus for her leadership and contributions to the ministry.
“We commend her dedication, commitment, and the remarkable achievements recorded during her tenure,” she said.
She further wished the former commissioner success in her future endeavours.
“We wish her the very best in her future pursuits and appreciate her service to the ministry and the state,” Abubakar added.
The ceremony featured the formal presentation of official ministry documents to the Acting Permanent Secretary, alongside other symbolic handover activities.
