The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, has intensified security measures across the state for the ongoing 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Computer-Based Test (CBT) examinations.
The State Commandant, Jibrin Idris, on Thursday led a monitoring team to key examination centres in Gombe metropolis, beginning inspections as early as 7:30 a.m., to ensure a smooth and secure exercise.

Centres visited include the Educational Resource Centre in Tashan Dukku, Federal College of Education (Technical) CBT Centre, Gombe State University (GSU) ICT Centre, El-Lawanti ICT Centre, Musasa ICT Centre in GRA, and the JAMB Office ICT Centre.
At the various locations, Idris assessed personnel deployment, access control systems, and coordination with JAMB officials, while also interacting with candidates and supervisors.
Speaking during the tour, the Commandant reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the examination process.
“NSCDC Gombe State Command is fully mobilised to support JAMB and other stakeholders to deliver a credible examination. We will not tolerate any act capable of undermining the exercise,” he said.
He stressed that officers had been adequately briefed to maintain professionalism and vigilance throughout the exercise.
“Our personnel have been directed to remain alert and civil while discharging their duties. Thorough screening of candidates must be enforced before entry into examination halls to prevent malpractice and impersonation,” Idris added.
The Commandant noted that the corps’ presence is aimed at ensuring a peaceful environment for candidates sitting for the examination across the state.
He also commended JAMB for what he described as improved coordination at the centres visited.
“I am impressed with the level of organisation observed so far. This shows that stakeholders are working together to ensure the success of the exercise,” he said.
Idris further assured parents and guardians of the safety of their wards, maintaining that adequate security arrangements have been put in place throughout the examination period.
The NSCDC, however, urged members of the public to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities around examination centres to the nearest authorities.
