Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have uncovered a suspected “baby factory” in Lagos State, rescuing 28 victims during a coordinated raid.
The agency said the action followed credible intelligence indicating that the facility was being used for human trafficking and other forms of exploitation.
Those rescued, comprising young women and children, have been placed in protective custody, where they are receiving medical care and psychosocial support.
Several suspects were apprehended at the scene and are currently undergoing interrogation as authorities seek to unravel the full scope of the operation and identify other possible collaborators.
The NSCDC described the raid as part of its sustained crackdown on human trafficking and related offences, reiterating its commitment to safeguarding vulnerable persons.
Investigations are ongoing to establish broader links and ensure all those involved are brought to justice.
