The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has felicitated a Taraba-based philanthropist, Chief Dr. Adi Pajo, over his conferment with the traditional title of Hocho Kwararafa in the Kwararafa Kingdom.

In a statement made available on Wednesday, the Taraba State NYCN President, Comrade Hapson Haruna Babale, described Chief Pajo as a beacon of hope for the less privileged, noting that his positive impact has contributed to development in the state.
According to Babale, the traditional title is deeply rooted in the history and cultural values of the Kwararafa Kingdom, adding that it serves as a moral boost for Chief Adi Pajo to continue impacting lives.
“The turbaning of Chief Adi Pajo as the Hocho of the Kwararafa Kingdom is a moral booster for him to positively impact more lives among Taraba youths. It is a recognition of merit, service, and enduring commitment to community development,” the statement read.

The NYCN further stated that the title reflects the long-standing values associated with the Kwararafa Kingdom.
“The turbaning of Dr. Adi Pajo as Hocho reflects the values long associated with the Kwararafa Kingdom—honour, responsibility, and leadership anchored on service.
“For us, the turbaning is more than a traditional rite. It is a moment that affirms the place of integrity, humility, and consistent impact in leadership.”
The council added that Dr. Pajo’s contributions, particularly in youth development and community advancement, have earned him widespread respect within and beyond the state.
It noted that his philanthropic engagements and quiet interventions in the lives of many have become defining elements of his public image, especially among young people.
According to the NYCN, his name has become synonymous with courage, wisdom, and a strong commitment to justice and progress.
