The Plateau State Police Command has announced that it will begin enforcement of the newly relaxed curfew across the state from April 1, 2026, urging residents to strictly adhere to the directive.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Jos, noting that the enforcement will be carried out in collaboration with other security agencies.
According to him, the review by the state government permits residents to move freely only between 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
“Following the relaxation of the curfew announced by the Plateau State Government, the Command and sister security agencies will commence enforcement of the revised order effective from April 1, 2026,” he said.
Alabo stressed that all residents must be indoors before the 3:00 p.m. deadline, warning that violators would face necessary enforcement actions.
“The curfew relaxation allows residents to move between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. However, all persons must be indoors before 3:00 p.m.,” he added.
He further appealed to the public to cooperate with security agencies, emphasizing that compliance is crucial to maintaining peace and safeguarding lives and property across the state.
“The Command urges all residents to comply with the curfew restrictions to ensure that lives and properties of all Plateau citizens remain safe,” Alabo stated.
The police also provided emergency contact lines for residents to report incidents or seek assistance during the curfew period.
The Plateau State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining security and called on citizens to remain law-abiding as efforts continue to restore normalcy in the state.
