Former Chief of Army Staff and Minister of Defence, Lt. Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma, on Wednesday said the establishment of the Takum Ultra-Modern Market will position Taraba State on the global economic map.

Danjuma made this known during an inspection tour of the facility in Takum, noting that the market was designed to meet international standards and attract both local and foreign investors.
He emphasized that the features of the market, when completed, would transform Taraba into one of the top revenue-generating states in Nigeria.
“Soon, Taraba will become an economic hub in Nigeria,” Danjuma said.
“When this market is completed, the state will become a business centre capable of supporting 24-hour commercial activities,” he added.
The elder statesman commended the Takum Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Benjamin Bako, for the initiative and the quality of work done so far.
Earlier, the council chairman, Hon. Benjamin Bako, stated that the market would provide a conducive environment for both local and international investors and stimulate economic growth in Taraba State.
He disclosed that the project was conceived to improve revenue generation and create investment opportunities for citizens, particularly the youth.
Bako reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering impactful and people-centred projects.
