Elders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa South Senatorial Zone have unanimously endorsed Chief Peter Leonard Ndwacho Fwa as their preferred candidate for the 2027 senatorial election.

The endorsement was announced during a meeting held on Thursday at Livad Hotel in Numan, where party elders drawn from the nine local government areas of the zone expressed confidence in Fwa’s leadership capacity, loyalty to the party, and grassroots appeal.

The stakeholders, representing Demsa, Numan, Lamurde, Guyuk, Shelleng, Ganye, Jada, Mayo-Belwa and Toungo LGAs, said their decision followed careful consideration of developments within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The group described Chief Fwa as a committed party man who had consistently demonstrated loyalty, discipline and sacrifice for the unity and growth of the APC.

They recalled that Fwa contested for the same senatorial position in 2019 but stepped down in the interest of party unity after consultations with party leaders and elders.

According to them, despite not holding public office afterward, he remained actively involved in supporting party activities across the state through financial contributions and grassroots mobilisation.

The elders further noted that Fwa’s senatorial aspiration was inspired by the desire to address challenges of underdevelopment, insecurity and youth unemployment in the Southern Zone.

They highlighted his contributions in youth empowerment, scholarship support, skills acquisition programmes and humanitarian interventions as evidence of his commitment to the welfare of the people.

The group also praised his professional and public service record, noting that he served with the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) where he contributed to the implementation of the Abuja Master Plan and later worked as Special Assistant to the Minister.

They added that Fwa also served as Personal Assistant to former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan, during which he facilitated empowerment programmes and development initiatives for Adamawa State.

The elders further commended his role as former General Manager of the Adamawa State Urban Development Authority, where he contributed to infrastructural development in Yola and Jimeta metropolis, including the development of Bekaji Road and other commercial areas.

According to the stakeholders, Chief Fwa has also supported medical outreach programmes, educational assistance for indigent students and other humanitarian services across communities in the state.

They stated that his support for the APC over the years, including the provision of campaign equipment and assistance during electioneering campaigns, distinguished him among other aspirants.

The elders therefore called on Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, APC leaders and other stakeholders in the state to support Fwa’s aspiration and consider him as the party’s flag bearer for the Adamawa South Senatorial District in 2027.

They expressed confidence that his emergence would strengthen the party’s chances in the election and provide effective representation for the people of the zone.
