Former Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello, has directed his security personnel to grant immediate and unrestricted access to former governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, following a reconciliation meeting held late Wednesday night.
The reconciliation process was reportedly facilitated by Mai Mala Buni, who led a high-powered peace delegation under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Reconciliatory Committee.
Sources at the meeting disclosed that Ajaka tendered an apology to Bello over their prolonged political rift arising from the aftermath of the 2023 governorship election in Kogi State.
In response, Bello was quoted as instructing his aides and security operatives to remove every form of restriction previously placed on Ajaka’s access to him.
“Please, he has gone and come back. Anytime, any day, let him have access to me unrestricted, devoid of any protocol, except I’m not at home,” Bello reportedly said.
The development signals a major thaw in relations between the two political figures and may reshape political alignments ahead of future political activities in the state.
