The detained President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Alhaji Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, has announced his withdrawal from the Taraba Central senatorial race.
Bodejo’s decision was announced on Sunday evening by the Director-General of his campaign council, Alhaji Adamu Isa.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that Bodejo has been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since May 8, 2026, after his release from the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) on the same day.
It was also alleged that two prominent personalities from Taraba State visited him on May 9, 2026, and instructed him to withdraw from the contest as a condition for securing his release from EFCC custody.
Meanwhile, the campaign DG, while announcing Bodejo’s withdrawal from the race, disclosed that the Miyetti Allah president had declared total support for the second-term bids of President Bola Tinubu, Governor Agbu Kefas, and Senator Haruna Manu.
According to Isa, the decision was taken to enable the candidates to continue delivering the desired dividends of democracy to Taraba State and Nigeria at large.
He also stated that Bodejo did not join the race to antagonise anyone, but rather to contribute to the development of Taraba State.
The DG, speaking on behalf of Bodejo, said politics should not be viewed as a do-or-die affair, especially as Governor Kefas and Senator Manu were already providing the needed dividends of democracy to the people of the state.
He appealed to Bodejo’s supporters and the people of Taraba State to support the second-term bids of President Tinubu, Governor Kefas, and Senator Manu in order to attract more development to the state.
