A former director of the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Muktar Galadima, has emerged as the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party for the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency seat in Taraba State.
The Returning Officer, Nuhu Agbu, who announced the result on Tuesday, said Galadima emerged as the sole candidate for the position in line with the PDP constitution and guidelines.
Agbu explained that after due consultations and due process, the PDP leadership and aspirants in the constituency reached a consensus to produce Galadima as the party’s candidate.
In his acceptance speech, Galadima expressed gratitude to the PDP and party supporters for the confidence reposed in him.
He assured constituents that deliberate efforts would be made to attract development projects to the constituency, particularly programmes aimed at empowering youths, if elected into the House of Representatives in 2027.
The PDP candidate also urged constituents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the election.
PERISCOPE NIGERIA reports that party leaders and supporters expressed confidence in Galadima’s candidacy and commended the peaceful and transparent process that led to his emergence.
