Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Saturday monitored the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primaries in parts of Jimeta and Yola, applauding residents for their orderly participation and strong turnout during the exercise.

The governor moved round major voting centres, including Bako Primary School in Yola South Local Government Area, where he observed the accreditation and voting process while engaging party faithful, election officials and security personnel.
Speaking during the visit, Fintiri commended the people of Adamawa State for what he described as their unwavering commitment to the APC and its leadership at both the state and federal levels.
He urged residents to continue supporting the ruling party, stressing that sustained backing would enable the government to build on achievements already recorded in infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, youth development and social intervention programmes.
Fintiri, who was accompanied by the APC governorship flagbearer in Adamawa State, Tijjani Ahmed Galadima, called on party members to unite behind all APC candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor described Galadima as an experienced and credible politician capable of providing effective leadership and addressing the developmental needs of the state.
He also defended the reform policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying the economic difficulties currently being experienced were not peculiar to Nigeria alone but part of wider global economic pressures.
According to him, early signs indicate that some of the federal government’s policies are beginning to make positive impact in key sectors of the economy.
Fintiri added that voting APC candidates into office in 2027 would ensure continuity in governance, strengthen political stability and accelerate development across the state and the country.
The primary elections recorded impressive participation in several polling units across Yola and Jimeta, with security agencies maintaining peaceful atmosphere throughout the exercise.
