Alhaji Ahmed Tijani Galadima has secured the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State following the party’s primary election conducted ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Galadima emerged victorious after polling the highest number of votes cast by delegates during the exercise supervised by the APC electoral committee in the state.

The primary election, held under tight security, was reported to have proceeded peacefully, with party officials and observers monitoring the process across designated voting centres.

Addressing supporters after he was declared winner on Friday, Galadima expressed gratitude to party delegates and stakeholders for entrusting him with the party’s mandate.

He pledged to strengthen the APC in the state and provide purposeful leadership focused on development and improved welfare for residents if elected governor in 2027.

The APC governorship candidate also appealed to other aspirants and party members to close ranks and work collectively towards the success of the party in the forthcoming elections.

Galadima commended the leadership of the APC for conducting what he described as a transparent and credible primary process, noting that the exercise reflected the party’s commitment to internal democracy and fairness.

His emergence followed the withdrawal of some aspirants from the race in support of his candidature, a development seen by political observers as part of efforts to build unity within the party ahead of the governorship contest.
