The candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the Wukari/Ibi Federal Constituency of Taraba State, Engr. Mathias Luka Agbu, has pledged to work closely with relevant committees and government agencies to attract economic opportunities and drive development in the constituency if elected.

Engr. Agbu made the pledge while speaking shortly after emerging as the party’s candidate. He said the constituency’s extensive river networks, fisheries, fertile agricultural land, and tourism assets have the potential to attract both local and foreign investors if properly harnessed through strategic partnerships.
“I am contesting for a seat in the House of Representatives to unlock the economic potential of my constituency, boost revenue generation, and create job opportunities for our youths.
“My constituency has the capacity to emerge as one of Nigeria’s economic hubs. Despite its vast natural resources and strategic location, it remains largely underutilised.
“This situation has hampered development and limited its contribution to government revenue,” he said.
Agbu further stated that the constituency’s abundant natural endowments could stimulate economic growth and improve the livelihoods of residents.
“I believe that the extensive river networks, fisheries, fertile agricultural land, and tourism assets can attract both local and foreign investors to boost the economy if the right partnerships are established,” he assured.
The House of Representatives candidate also promised to facilitate the remobilisation of contractors to ensure the completion of the Ibi Bridge project.
“The abandoned Ibi Bridge project is a painful reminder of what I describe as ‘generational stagnation’ caused by leadership failure.
“Today, the Ibi Bridge stands as a monument of neglect. Completing it would unlock trade between the North and the South, attract serious investors, and stimulate commerce and tourism,” he said.
