The Chairman of the Gombe State PDP Social Media (Wike Faction) has launched a scathing attack on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, calling on him to immediately resign his position if he cannot uphold the principles and leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a strongly worded statement, Abubakar Muhammad Dalibi, a PDP member and Public Relations Officer (PRO) in Dawaki Ward, accused Wike of engaging in blatant anti-party activities that undermine the unity and credibility of the PDP. He warned that Wike’s continued association with the APC-led administration while claiming PDP loyalty is both unacceptable and politically dishonest.
Dalibi further issued a stern warning to all PDP members holding appointments under the APC government to resign without delay or face disciplinary consequences. According to him, it is hypocritical and a direct betrayal for individuals to claim allegiance to the PDP while benefiting from positions such as Senior Legislative Assistants (SLAs) and Legislative Aides/Assistants under the Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“It is morally indefensible and politically reckless for anyone to remain in the PDP while openly serving or pledging loyalty to the APC, especially ahead of the 2027 elections,” Dalibi declared. “You cannot dine with the PDP in Gombe and wine with the APC in Abuja.”
He emphasised that the party in Gombe State will not tolerate divided loyalty, insisting that all members must fully align with PDP interests from top to bottom or face expulsion.
Dalibi also rejected what he described as Wike’s alleged agenda to coerce PDP structures into supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027, describing it as a futile and unacceptable political misadventure.
“No individual, no matter how highly placed, can hijack the soul of the PDP for personal ambition. Wike must make a clear choice: stand with the PDP or defect to the APC. There is no middle ground,” he added.
In addition, Dalibi revealed that a significant number of former PDP political appointees, including ex-commissioners, advisers, and other officeholders, are currently serving as Senior Legislative Assistants to principal officers of the National Assembly who are members of the APC. He described this development as a clear act of anti-party conduct.
He further alleged that many of these individuals maintain a dual political identity, presenting themselves as PDP members within Gombe State, but effectively operating as APC loyalists once they leave the state for Abuja.
“In Gombe, they claim PDP. The moment they pass Gombe Airport or Lawanti, they become APC members in Abuja. This kind of political duplicity is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” Dalibi stated.
Reiterating his position, Dalibi called on all PDP members “taking cues from Wike” to either resign their appointments under the APC-led government or leave the PDP entirely.
While acknowledging that he belongs to the Wike faction within the PDP, Dalibi stressed that he would not condone actions that amount to what he termed “a blatant assault on the integrity and collective interest of the party.”
“This is beyond factional loyalty; it is about defending the soul of the PDP,” he concluded.
